New Blog @ Yahoo! 360

Thursday, March 31st, 2005

Check out the new invitation only blog (sounds like Gmail idea) at http://360.yahoo.com, for my blog, add /tgracia to that URL. All invited first time users get 100 invitation tokens, which will make new blogs coming up quicker as people invite. Drop me a message if any of you want to have a look. AIT blocks Yahoo photos for no reason :( I guess the admins should be replaced, haha.

Underscore character in Friendster Blogs

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2005

Some contacts have underscore characters on their blog subdomains. Friendster should have anticipate this by rejecting underscore characters when people are creating blogs. Too bad there are too many blogs made with underscore characters already :( Remember, underscore is not a valid FQDN in DNS (RFC 1034, 1035).

What’s good about bloging in Friendster

Monday, March 21st, 2005
  • Introduce your friends in Friendster to blog
  • Nice Photo Albums
  • Enough quota for blog posts, comments and pictures (only 12 pictures in Friendster, so put more here in your blog photo album)
  • Easy customizations for beginners

What’s not so good (AFAIK, for the free blog):

  • Only friends from Friendster may comment
  • Site access / bandwidth limit :(
  • About the design: the 3 column template makes the message column to narrow

So, if you’re so serious about blogging in Friendster, you may have to upgrade it. I still have to stick around for a while with this free one.

Finally, Friendster opened a ‘Create Blog’ menu for me. And I have to say sorry for Thai people for using ‘thai’ as the subdomain of my new wonderul blog from Friendster ;)
Khaw Thoht na Khrub! ^:)^
I will think of moving all my blogs here. For those of you who wants to see my previous one: http://indoblog.blogspot.com
OK, now I have to check out what the Images / Photo Albums service Friendster will give…
