2 days ago I had a foot massage in JS Plaza (Surabaya) and I remembered once that this place has free wireless Internet connection; so I took out my Thinkpad and lit up the wireless, and it showed 2 APs with SSID: JS PLAZA HOT SPOT. Too bad those 2 APs use the same channel, 6. I surfed some websites, check my Gmail account, run Meebo (YM client wont work, I guess they filtered the port), quite fast. I also checked the traceroute, which was also filtered but probably they use Telkom Speedy. In the middle of surfing the connection was lost, maybe due to the frequency crash between the APs. I turned it off before the massage finished.

What? A yearbook? With students’ own photos? That yearbook will look ugly for sure; why don’t they take photo sessions for all of the graduating students? Anyway, I sent to SU media this pic:
And I got this reply:
Dear Justinus
Please be serious in complying to the requirements of the Batch yearbook. If
you are a graduating student, then please send your decent photo. We have no
time in making fun out of this thing. thanks.

Suvarnabhumi, the new name of Bangkok’s new airport. Today I experienced being a simulated passenger, carrying 2 suitcases per boarding pass (I got 4 boarding passes for the test). A bit worth it for a meal, snack, souvenir and 250 Baht ‘allowance’. See the pictures in http://www.cs.ait.ac.th/~a101562/aot

My Linux desktop in my laptop with gdesklets objects, the clock, countdown (guess for what), and the interesting MacOS-X type zooming dock objects. I work on my thesis in this environment, and just about everything else: coding, documentation, surfing, email, music, movies and even chat.

I will be one of the volunteers to try out the airport facility of the new airport Suvarnabhumi, in 4 April. I just hope that that day I don’t have the final defense. The final defense should be before or after that date.

There are only 2 movies in Bangkok International Film Festival, they are: "Gie" and "Joni’s Promise" (Janji Joni). I never watched these two movies, I only know the real Gie as a brother of my dad’s friend Arif Budiman, who was also my neighbor in Salatiga, back in the 80’s.
